Challenge

In Africa, the high incidence of medical errors is a major public health issue, with direct consequences for mortality, the quality of care and trust in healthcare systems. This situation is exacerbated by the low ratio of healthcare professionals per capita, the professional isolation of healthcare workers and limited access to suitable continuing medical education programmes.
Traditional training programmes, often based on one-off medical conferences, remain costly, difficult to access and insufficiently tailored to the realities of medical practice in Africa. At the same time, the difficulty of collaborating remotely and sharing medical knowledge quickly limits the quality and speed of clinical decision-making.
These constraints undermine patient safety, generate significant additional costs for healthcare systems and hinder the continuous improvement of healthcare professionals’ skills.

Innovative solution

REMA offers a mobile and web-based digital platform enabling healthcare professionals in French-speaking Africa to collaborate in real time on clinical cases, share knowledge and access continuing medical education content tailored to their practice context.
The solution facilitates the rapid transfer of skills and medical information, reduces professional isolation and supports the improvement of clinical practices. In addition, REMA offers certified continuing medical education programmes and remote communication tools designed for healthcare professionals.

Targeted impact
