Challenge

Today, many producers face difficulties in marketing their products due to unstable demand. Lacking means of preservation and processing, they often incur significant post-harvest losses. At the same time, Senegalese living abroad have limited access to cereals and other typical West African products. To address this dual challenge, BIOSENE positions itself as a key player by transforming local products into high-quality, high-value-added cereals, a significant portion of which is intended for export.

Innovative solution

BIOSENE is committed to enhancing local products (both food and cosmetic) and promoting “buying local.” By stimulating demand, the company helps strengthen agricultural productivity while ensuring an abundant, diverse, and high-quality supply of processed products of local origin.
Concerned with the quality of raw materials, BIOSENE provides pre-financing for its suppliers’ agricultural campaigns, enabling them to acquire inputs that meet organic standards and to produce in compliance with quality benchmarks.
Finally, BIOSENE aims to fully automate its local cereal processing operations in order to strengthen its competitiveness in both local and international markets.

Impact

  • 10% increase in producers’ revenues thanks to processing equipment
  • Partnerships with 200 new producers through modernisation efforts
  • Enrollment of 30 new distribution clients
  • Purchase of 700 tons of raw materials from producers
